Visiting the Baltic in autumn offers you a chance to uncover the very best of this remarkably diverse region, at a time when it’s less crowded but no less rewarding. This no-fly cruise aboard Fred. Olsen’s Balmoral, sets sail from Newcastle towards Denmark. You will have a mixture of days on board to acquaint yourself with the excellent facilities, as well as plenty of time for new discoveries in this intriguing region, combined with visits to two of Scandinavia’s capitals - Copenhagen and Oslo.

Day 2 - At sea
A day at sea, giving you time to relax and familiarise yourself with the extensive facilities on board.
Day 3 - Copenhagen, Denmark
We sail into Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital, for you to experience a day full of charm, vibrancy, inspirational culture and lovely architecture - all wrapped up in a friendly atmosphere. Nyhavn - Copenhagen’s 17th century waterfront and canal - is home to many brightly-coloured 17th and 18th century townhouses. The world-famous sculpture of the Little Mermaid, Kronborg Castle (Elsinore in Shakespeare's Hamlet) and Christianborg Palace and Amalienborg Palace are among other top attractions.
Day 4 - At sea
Day 5 - Helsinki, Finland
Helsinki is not shy of museums and striking architecture. Be inspired by the impeccable Senate Square, decorated with stunning neo-classical buildings and the striking Lutheran Cathedral. Combined with large parks, forests, beautiful lakes, and over 100 kilometres of beautiful coastline, there is plenty to explore in Finland’s capital.
Day 6-7 - St Petersburg, Russia (overnight)
The jewel in the Baltic Crown, St. Petersburg is built on 40 islands at the mouth of the River Neva. On Neva embankment, the Winter Palace, with over a thousand rooms, is the most magnificent of six buildings that make up the captivating Hermitage Museum. We arrive in the morning of day 6 and don’t sail until late evening on day 7, so you have plenty of time to explore.
Day 8 - Tallinn, Estonia
Today we sail into Estonia’s capital on the Baltic Sea, Tallinn, one of Europe’s newest capitals. It’s perfect for combining the city’s rich cultural scene with the cobblestoned Old Town, cafes and shops - all within easy reach. Later we set sail heading towards Norway.
Day 9-10 - At sea
Day 11 - Oslo, Norway
The 1000-year-old Norwegian capital sits at the head of Oslo Fjord where views can be enjoyed if you climb the gently sloping roof of the Opera House. From taking in visual delights at Vigeland Sculpture Park to the Munch Museum and Holmenkollen, Oslo offers plenty of sightseeing opportunities.
Day 12 - At sea
Day 13 Newcastle
We disembark after breakfast and you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
