Vienna exudes an atmosphere of elegant sophistication and style that has been evolving since the bygone age of the Habsburgs, Austria’s most influential rulers. On this Christmas break, we’ll see the city’s rich tapestry of historical, architectural and cultural heritage at its most festive. The grounds of the baroque Schönbrunn Palace will be transformed into a traditional Christmas Market. And an excursion to the Vienna Woods, visiting the Cistercian abbey of Heiligenkreuz, just adds to the magic.

Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your flight to Vienna. On arrival we’ll be transferred to our hotel and enjoy a welcome drink.

Christmas Eve - Vienna - Schönbrunn Palace
Our guided walking tour of Old Vienna includes views of the lavish terraced gardens of Prince Eugene’s Belvedere Palace, the State Opera House, the Hofburg residence of Emperor Franz Joseph, the Parliament Buildings and St Stephen’s Cathedral. This afternoon we’ll make the short journey by coach to Schönbrunn Palace. At Christmas time the palace grounds are transformed with a buzz of excitement as it plays host one of Vienna’s most spectacular Christmas markets. Roasted sausages, gingerbread, toys, and decorative Christmas candles, plus much more festive fare are found here. Later, we explore the palace itself, where headsets with English commentary are provided. You can progress through the state rooms at your own pace. They’re decorated in 18th century Rococo style, with priceless crystal chandeliers, tapestries, furniture and frescoes.

Boxing Day - Vienna
Today you’re free to continue exploring this fascinating historic city at leisure. Vienna offers endless opportunities for shopping from large departmental stores, boutiques, antique shops, jewellers and everything that a shopper’s heart desires. The Belvedere Gallery has a marvellous collection of Austrian and international art from the last two centuries. Vienna is also renowned for its traditional Christkindlmarkt held in front of the City Hall with imaginatively decorated trees and fairytales portrayed in artistically arranged displays. Café life is a feature of Viennese society and there are numerous places to sit and watch the world go by.
Discover the enchanting snow-capped region of the Vienna Woods. Here, picturesque villages half hidden by dense pine forests add to its beauty. We travel through the Austrian wine-growing area and visit the charming villages of Heiligenkreuz and Mayerling before returning to Vienna. We spend our final evening dining at one of Vienna’s best Heurigers. An important part of Austrian culture, these traditional, rustic inns offer wine created from their own vineyards, and deliciously uncomplicated food.
Day 6 Vienna - UK
We transfer to the airport for our flight to the UK. Upon arrival your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
