The Iberian Peninsula has some incredible stories to share. We’ll begin with a city break in Lisbon and a trip to picturesque Sintra, a town of ancient castles and stunning scenery. Then, our Iberian cruise begins, taking us along the Guadelete River to Seville, rich in architecture, flamenco and tapas. What follows is a leisurely exploration of the Spanish coastline, with plenty of time to make your discoveries. Vibrant Barcelona completes our voyage, with time for a thorough exploration of this city and perhaps a visit to the magnificent Sagrada Familia.

    Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Lisbon. On arrival, we transfer to our hotel and the remainder of the day is at leisure.

    Our walking tour this morning introduces us to this magnificent capital city. There’s a raft of museums, including the superb National Museum of Contemporary Art and the Carmo Archaeological Museum, housed in the remains of a Gothic church. Other highlights include the historic Alfama and Bairro Alto districts, the hilltop Castelo de São Jorge and the Belem Tower. Don’t forget to try a pastel de nata (custard tart), one of Lisbon’s most famous treats.

    Enjoy the views of rural Portugal as we drive to Sintra, a pretty hillside town that has enticed many of Portugal’s nobility. Exquisite mansions and palaces are in abundance and we take time to wander through Sintra National Palace, built as a Moorish Palace around a thousand years ago. It became the summer retreat for the Portuguese royal family for six centuries and its simple, white exterior conceals many ornately decorated state rooms.

    Day 4 - Lisbon

    After a leisurely morning, we transfer to the port where we embark our ship and settle in to our luxurious surroundings before we begin our cruise.

    Day 5 - At sea

    Spend the day sailing in style aboard your boutique hotel at sea. Indulge in a treatment at Sanctum Spa, stay shipshape with a class at the fitness centre, or lounge the day away on the sunny pool deck. In the evening, savour inspired Italian cuisine at Aqualina, or relish in a classic steakhouse experience at Prime C Plus, you’ll find plenty of exciting evening entertainment, from thrilling shows at Cabaret Lounge to intimate performances in the Living Room.

    Days 6-7 - Seville, Spain (overnight)

    Did you know Seville is credited with the invention of tapas? Join in with the locals as they graze from bar to bar, making an entire meal out of the experience. The city also has a rich history evident in its landmarks. The Alcazar, the main palace, is exquisitely decorated in Moorish style, with themed gardens laid out in terraces. All in all, an abundance of riches for all those who come to call. We remain in port overnight, allowing time for an evening stroll after dinner.

    Day 8 - Gibraltar, UK

    The towering Rock of Gibraltar is a sight to behold. Overlooking the mouth of the Mediterranean from a height of 1,400 feet, it’s a natural fortress. It’s also home to huge caves and troupes of Barbary macaques that have taken up residence on The Rock’s upper reaches. On the streets below, you can explore dozens of British stores and pubs, and marvel that you’re a stone’s throw away from Spain.

    Day 9 - Málaga, Spain

    Málaga is like a beautiful work of art. And it’s no wonder, considering it was the birthplace of Picasso. You’ll find a museum commemorating his birth here, which is a must-visit destination for art fans. Elsewhere, be sure to spend some time in the city’s Alcazaba, an 11th-century citadel that’s home to three palaces, beautiful gardens, and opulent fountains.

    Day 10 - Almeria

    World-renowned for its wonderful climate, the sun shines on Almeria more than 320 days a year. Discover the influences of the Romans, Phoenicians, and Moors on the city's architecture, culture, and customs. Start in the heart of Almeria at Puerta Puchena and try a little tapas, then explore the modern city centre.

    Day 11 - Cartagena

    The seat of ancient Carthage, this Spanish port city is steeped in over 2,000 years of history. Start at the Naval Museum to learn more about the ‘City of Cultures’, then set out to explore everything from Roman ruins right up to modern creations inspired by Gaudi.

    Day 12 - Valencia

    Marvel at the mix of innovative architecture and gothic beauty when you visit Valencia. This Spanish city is home to many avant-garde buildings, including the breathtaking City of Arts and Sciences cultural complex. Elsewhere, palaces and mansions constructed in the 15th century dot the cityscape, while The Silk Exchange resembles a medieval fortress housing many mysterious carvings. Later, we take in a futuristic performance in the City of Arts and Sciences where you’ll see dancers and acrobats perform to an amazing music and light show.

    Day 13 - Barcelona (overnight)

    Those who enjoy architecture will love the magnificent medieval buildings of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter and the Modernist movement - the work of Antoni Gaudi is scattered through the city and you can easily fill your day visiting these alone. His masterpiece is the amazing Church of the Sagrada Familia, colossal and as yet unfinished, though construction began in 1882.

    We disembark and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. On arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
