The Seychelles, Maldives & Andaman Islands with Phuket
Day 1 UK - In flight
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to the Seychelles.
Day 2 Victoria, Mahé, Seychelles (overnight)
On arrival, we transfer to embark Boudicca (3.5-star), with time to settle in before dinner on board. The ship sails early tomorrow morning.
Day 3 Victoria - Praslin Island
The Seychelles’ Praslin Island is a paradise of white sandy beaches and tropical forests that was once the perfect hideaway for pirates. Now it only hides black parrots and other rare bird species at UNESCO-listed Vallée de Mai; and displays some of the world’s best beaches, with ancient coral reefs not far from the coast. Ship to shore tender service.
Days 4-6 At sea
Three full days as we sail to the Maldives. Enjoy hearty breakfasts then take your pick from the variety of activities on board. Show off your general knowledge in an afternoon or evening quiz. Try your hand at bridge, bingo or deck quoits. Or indulge in a traditional afternoon tea to while away your time. Top off the day with a sumptuous dinner or a simple tasty buffet.
Day 7 Malé, Maldives
Dakar is a fascinating peninsula where skyscrapers tower over old colonial buildings and street markets, horse carts and gleaming SUVs share dusty roads, and French is interspersed with tribal dialects. Lively markets offer everything from livestock to an array of vibrant crafts. Head into bush country on an excursion to a village, to gain insight into a quieter, traditional pace of life.
Day 8 At sea
Spend the day on board. Maybe read a book and relax or choose to listen to a fascinating talk by a guest speaker. Enjoy lunchtime melodies or a piano recital, then walk a mile with the cruise fitness instructor.
Day 9 Colombo, Sri Lanka
The bustling port city of Colombo is rich with religious and colonial heritage. The impressive Colombo National Museum, dedicated to Sri Lankan history, is worth visiting and it borders the sprawling Viharamahadevi Park, home to a giant Buddha. The narrow cobbled streets of Pettah, the main bazaar district, are full of shops and street markets selling an amazing array of goods. A more rustic, slow-paced Sri Lankan experience can be found in nearby Negombo, with its quaint village streets and lively fish market. Alternatively, sun seekers can venture to the private beach of Mount Lavinia, on the breathtaking Golden Mile beachfront.
Days 10-11 At sea
Keep your brain active with the morning quiz, then perfect your dance moves in the afternoon with a beginners’ class. After dinner, you could continue the dancing theme and join the hosted dancing, or choose to watch the professionals instead.
Days 12-13 Port Blair, South Andaman Island (overnight)
Lively Port Blair is the largest city of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands group, surrounded by tropical forest and rugged coastline. The city is an eclectic mix of Indian Ocean people; its history is worth exploring - the museums of Anthropology, Fishery and Naval Marine are all small but interesting. Alternatively, Havelock Island, which can be reached by catamaran, is a place for peace and tranquillity, as well as a snorkelling paradise. Or maybe head to nearby Ross Island, which has many ruins from the island’s notorious past, or Mahatma Gandhi National Marine Park, where a variety of exotic fish, turtles, starfish and even crocodiles live among the lush vegetation.
Day 14 At sea
As we sail towards Phuket, you’re free to do as much (or as little) as you wish. Maybe start your day off with a brisk walk around the deck. Or opt for a yoga class. Spend the afternoon learning a craft, or perfecting your golf swing. After your choice of dinner, you can catch a show or dance into the night.
Day 15 Phuket, Thailand (overnight)
The rainforested, mountainous island of Phuket has some of Thailand’s most spectacular soft white beaches along the clear blue waters of its western shore, where tall limestone crags rise straight out of the sea. This idyllic high-end island resort contrasts nicely with the culturally-rich capital, Phuket Town, which offers busy markets, Hindu Temples, Buddhist shrines and the Thalang National Museum, a fascinating exhibition about the island’s indigenous culture.
Day 16 Phuket
We disembark and transfer to our hotel on the western coast of the island, the Kamala Beach Resort (4.5-star). You’re free to explore and we’ll enjoy dinner this evening.
Day 17 Koh Yao Noi
Spend today on the small island of Koh Yao Noi, supporting family-run businesses and learning about traditional lifestyles of the people. Walk through a rubber plantation to see how the trees are tapped for sap, then witness the time-consuming process of batik making at a small workshop. Take part in a cooking experience in a family home and enjoy the dishes while gaining insight into the lives of the southern Thai people. Spend the rest of the day wandering through rice fields, the local market and village lanes, where buffaloes and cows graze lazily.
Day 18 Phuket
Spend a day relaxing on beautiful beaches, or take an optional excursion to see Phuket’s lesser-known corners. Meet a volunteer from the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project at Tong Sai National Park to learn how they protect the native gibbon population and their natural habitats, and see some of the gibbons being nursed back to health. The excursion also includes visits to the Kathu Mining Museum, a cashew nut factory and Wat Prathong, one of the oldest temples in Phuket.
Day 19 Phuket - UK
We transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
