Day 2 Harare - Pamuzinda

Harare - Pamuzinda On arrival, we transfer to Pamuzinda, where we stay at a lodge along the banks of the Serui River. This afternoon, enjoy the tranquillity, meet the locals at an elephant experience, or take your first game drive. This evening, sample the local culture with a traditional barbecue dinner and dance show.

Day 3 Pamuzinda

Pamuzinda Take your pick of morning activities. This afternoon, we’ve arranged a visit to the Chengeta Primary and Secondary School, built with charity funds, and attended by more than 600 students. Afterwards we take a game drive, looking for lions and birds. We finish at Ayre’s Rock for a sundowner drink, and then a Mongolian braai (barbecue) under the stars.

Day 4 Kariba

Pamuzinda We travel to the shores of Lake Kariba, via the Chinhoyi Caves. Sacred spirits are said to watch over ‘The Wonder Hole’, a spectacular cavern with a 150ft vertical drop into a cobalt-blue pool.
Arriving at our next lodge, relax before an evening sundowner on the viewing deck. Elephants, hippos, crocodiles and monkeys are just some of the creatures that may visit us.

Day 5 Kariba - Lake Kariba

Kariba - Lake Kariba Our tour of Kariba includes a massive dam across the Zambezi River, and the beautiful little church of St Barbara. The dam’s assembly was set back several times by floods, said to be the work of an angered mythical creature - Nyaminyami. Throughout the town, you’ll find art depicting the half serpent, half fish spirit.
At midday, we embark our intimate and exclusive cruise boat and sail across Lake Kariba to Fothergill Island, a safe haven for numerous animals and birds. You’ll have opportunities to view game or explore the bays and inlets before sundowners aboard our boat.

Day 6 Lake Kariba

Lake Kariba You have opportunities to go fishing or track the inhabitants of Matusadona National Park, one of the last wild sanctuaries of the endangered black rhino and a great place for spotting lions and fish eagles. Later, we cruise to the remote fishing village of Kings Camp for further game activities by tender boat.

Day 7 Lake Kariba

Lake Kariba Relax and enjoy the views as we cruise along Lake Kariba. We stop for an afternoon of game viewing, and take another drive in the evening, when hippos leave the water to graze.

Day 8 Lake Kariba - Binga

Lake Kariba - Binga Enjoy a morning of game viewing and birding down the Sengwe River system, before brunch aboard the boat, as we cruise to our next lodge. After checking in, we have an afternoon tour of Binga town, including a Tongan village with a thriving handicraft industry, focused on traditional basketware, beadwork, drums and carved stools. We also visit the thermal hot springs on the shores of Lake Kariba.

Day 9 Hwange National Park

Hwange National Park We drive to a tented camp in Hwange National Park. The park is home to a diverse roll-call of animals, including lions, elephants and the unusual black sable antelope. We take a safari to see what we can find. Back at the camp, enjoy dinner and a tribal dance show around a Boma fire.

Day 10 Hwange National Park

Hwange National Park We have a full-day safari in Hwange National Park, with a picnic lunch in the bush. With over 100 mammal species roaming through vast areas of forests, semi desert scrub, granite hills and water holes, there’s a lot to see today. Will you tick off all of the Big Five? Will you spot a cheetah chasing its prey?

Day 11 Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls We journey to our final lodge, on the Zimbabwe side of Victoria Falls. We head into Victoria Falls Town for lunch and time to explore and reconvene later for a Boma dinner with entertainment.

Day 12 Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls Every minute, millions of gallons of water plunge over the edge of the world’s largest waterfall. The constant rush of the Zambezi River has carved out a series of precipices stretching over a mile. Experience the great roar when we view Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwe side (often considered the best side), and admire Victoria Falls Rainforest, soaked by the Falls’ tremendous spray.
Later this afternoon, we board the Bushtracks Express steam train for dinner with endless views of pristine wilderness. The most amazing sight rolls into view as we slowly chug across the iconic Victoria Falls Bridge, revealing the Falls at sunset.

Day 13 Victoria Falls - In flight

In flight We travel to the airport for the return flight to the UK.

Day 14 UK
