Day 1 UK - In flight

Day 2 Johannesburg - Windhoek

Tinten Palast or Ink Palace, in Windhoek, Namibia We arrive in Johannesburg and connect with our onward flight to Windhoek Airport, from where we are transferred to the Windhoek Country Club Resort (4T), situated on the outskirts of town. Lying in a fertile valley and surrounded by the spectacular mountain ranges of Eros and Auas, this city has a vibrant and cosmopolitan flavour.

Day 3 Windhoek - Kalahari Basin

Windhoek - Kalahari As we wend our way south of the city through some of the most picturesque ranching land, you may have your first sightings of yellow-billed hornbills or troops of baboons foraging in the undergrowth before arriving at the town of Rehoboth. Heading inland we arrive in the Kalahari Basin and our lodge for the night, Lapa Lange Game Lodge (3T+). Late this afternoon we embark on our exciting nature drive. Dinner will be served in the lodge this evening.

Day 4 Sossusvlei

 Meerkat with puppies (Suricata suricatta), Kalahari desert, Namibia We make our way to the Namib Desert, an area sometimes referred to as the ‘dune sea’ for its ever-moving and changing scenery. Sossusvlei Lodge (4T) is our base for the next two nights, where we have dinner.

Day 5 Sossusvlei - Sesriem - Sossusvlei

 Sesriem Canyon near Sossusvlei in Namibia This morning calls for an early departure by coach for the Sossusvlei excursion and after a short drive you will board 4x4 vehicles as we embark on an unforgettable experience of the dune region, some of which are claimed to be the world’s highest. We continue to Sesriem Canyon, a fascinating geological feature. We return to the lodge for an afternoon to relax in this wonderful environment and dine here tonight.

Day 6 Sossusvlei - Swakopmund

Swakopmund Welcome This morning we progress to Namibia’s premier coastal resort, the colonial town of Swakopmund. The bizarre Moon Valley flanks the Swakop River, one of the longest yet impermanent water courses in the country. These vast gravel plains are home to the unique Welwitschia Mirabilis, a botanical curiosity, some of which are more than 500 years old. We spend two nights at the Swakopmund Hotel (3T).

Day 7 Swakopmund

Swakopmund in the Namib desert There is a distinct nautical flavour to the town and this morning we transfer to Walvis Bay for our exciting marine cruise, where you can discover some of the wonderful birdlife and sea creatures whilst enjoying oysters and champagne. This afternoon take a leisurely amble around this delightful seaside town feasting your eyes on the fine colonial architecture.

Day 8 Swakopmund - Twyfelfontein

Twyfelfontein valley, Namibia We embark on our journey north along the often windswept and barren coast to Henties Bay and then north to Cape Cross for a visit to the seal colony before continuing along the Desert Highway to the heart of Damaraland. Our Lodge for the next two nights is Twyfelfontein (3T) or Damara Mopane Lodge (3T).

Day 9 Twyfelfontein

Twyfelfontein Today is a leisurely one and this morning you will find one of the largest collections of rock paintings and engravings in Africa. The formation and colour of the nearby Burnt Mountain is a phenomenon that has caused much speculation and the Organ Pipes, a mass of basalt slabs in a ravine gouged out by a river, is another geological curiosity in the area. You will also be able to visit some of the rock art sites, which can be seen around the lodge, before a free afternoon. Dinner is included at the hotel.

Day 10 Twyfelfontein - Etosha Region

Etosha National Park This morning we visit the Petrified Forest where you will find the remains of tree trunks, estimated to be about 200 million years old, scattered over a small enclosed area. We continue to the Epacha Game Reserve, located south of Etosha National Park, and stay at the Epacha Lodge (3T+), where our afternoon is at leisure before dinner this evening.

Day 11 Etosha National Park

 Giraffe herd (Giraffa camelopardalis) at a waterhole, Etosha National Park We make our way into the Etosha National Park for a full day’s game viewing from our coach. Throughout the day you will visit various water holes, where you can watch the game in its natural environment. The park has large herds of wildlife, which are unique to Southern Africa, such as the black rhino, zebra, lion, giraffe and a variety of antelope species to name but a few. Later in the day we arrive at Mokuti Lodge (4T) where we stay for two nights.

Day 12 Etosha National Park

Black rhino, oryx and springboks at Nebrownii waterhole As another exciting day unfolds we have a further opportunity to explore Etosha, the ‘Great White Place’. There is plenty of time for both the professional and amateur photographer as we wait in anticipation for the ‘bold’ and ‘timid’ to make an appearance. This is truly a magical experience.

Day 13 Otjiwarongo - Okahandja - Windhoek

 Waterberg Plateau National Park, Kalahari, Otjiwarongo Leaving Etosha behind today we head for Windhoek. Time will be spent at Otjiwarongo, and Okahandja, where we might see the ancient skills of the local craftsmen as they proficiently hand-carve a hippo or giraffe. We arrive early evening at the Windhoek Country Club Resort (4T).

Day 14 Windhoek - Johannesburg - In flight

We transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.

Day 15 UK

VIP Inbound Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
