Often when we’re considering a trip abroad, we pick a country, research the sights, book the flights and then enjoy two weeks exploring what that nation has to offer.

However, with only so many holidays you can take in a year, this one-country approach does rather limit the amount of locations you’ll be able to see in your lifetime. The solution? A holiday without borders!

Employing the philosophy of ‘why simply enjoy one nation when you can see two’, Titan Travel’s ‘Eastern Extravaganza’ 16-day tour includes the top attractions of both the north-eastern United States and the south-eastern provinces of Canada.

While stepping from time zone to time zone is a novel experience, hopping across a national border can be an exhilarating experience, with everything from architecture to language changing in the blink of eye.

For instance, while Burlington in the state of Vermont, USA, is an English-speaking city, lying just across the border are bilingual Ottawa and Montreal in Canada, where a large percentage of the population has French as its mother tongue.

While language, architecture and scenery can vary dramatically, there are some things the American’s and Canadian’s do have in common. Aside from competing in a joint league for sports such as basketball and ice hockey, one of the most famous shared attractions between the two nations is the mighty Niagara Falls, which straddles the border separating the province of Ontario and the state of New York.

Indeed, the colossal falls shows no prejudice and will shower intrepid Maid of the Mist explorers in a cloud of churning spray with no regard to whether they fly the Maple Leaf or the Stars and Stripes at home.

Of course, in countries as vast as the US and Canada, there’s also huge variety in the individual regions within their borders - which will certainly become apparent as you criss-cross this fabulous slice of North America on your ‘Eastern Extravaganza’.
