Our Enchanting York Christmas is centred on this ever popular ancient city, lying on the River Ouse in the centre of the Vale of York between the Dales and North York Moors. Often described as a living museum, York’s Roman, Viking and medieval legacies mark the story of its history throughout the streets and buildings, from the narrow lanes of the Shambles to the majestic Minster, the largest Gothic cathedral north of the Alps. Throughout your stay there will be time to fully acquaint yourself with the best of this enchanting city, or perhaps just sit back, relax and enjoy the magical atmosphere that Christmas always brings.
After breakfast, your time is free to perhaps take a short walk into the walled city of York for shopping and sightseeing. The Shambles, York Minster and Castle Museum (subject to opening hours) are all within a few minutes of the hotel. This evening dinner will be served followed by entertainment. Should you wish to attend a local church service, hot drinks will be served on your return to the hotel.
