Spring & Summer peak season luxury small-ship cruise with one nights stay in Inverness.
MV Lord of the Glens
Owned and operated by Magna Carta Steamship Company, this vessel is adorned with classical art and clad in rich mahogany.
The 'MV Lord of the Glens' is quite simply the only passenger vessel that is able to navigate both the Scottish inland waterways of the Caledonian Canal and the open sea. To make this possible the vessel was designed to meet exacting criteria in terms of its dimensions and to satisfy the stringent safety requirements of the British Maritime authorities. To this end during the year 2000 Spanish craftsmen re-constructed the vessel using the finest materials and equipment. For those who like technical details it has a maximum length of 150 feet and beam (width) of 34.5 feet together with a draft of 10.5 feet.
With a passenger capacity of just 54, all 27 cabins (lower/upper approx. 9-10m2, middle 10-12m2) are outward facing with en suite facilities, writing table, satellite TV, trouser press, hairdryer, internal telephone and individually controlled heating and air-conditioning. Lower deck cabins have large portholes, all others have a large picture window.
Public facilities include The ‘Robert Louis Stevenson’ restaurant that presents cuisine from the abundance of local and freshly sourced produce, whilst the ‘Sir Walter Scott’ bar and lounge provides magnificent all-round panoramic views of the Highland scene.
