Cairo

Old Cairo is where Christians, Muslims and Jews have lived peacefully together for centuries. The impressive Citadel of Mohammed Ali, a fortress from within whose walls you can witness the beautiful Alabaster Mosque, or visit the famous Khan el Khalili Bazaar, with its hundreds of shops and shopkeepers who love to barter.

Egypt 2012/13

White buildings topped by golden minarets shimmering in the heat, and the terracotta and ochre hues of expansive deserts, all the more vivid beneath constant blue skies, is the image we associate with North Africa. Egypt is located on the north-eastern corner of the continent, bordering both the sun-kissed Mediterranean Sea and the diver's paradise of the Red Sea with ofcourse the splendid River Nile flowing through this fascinating country.

The ancient civilisation in Egypt dates back three thousand years before Christ, evidence of this statement is visible in the remarkable city of Cairo. In stark contrast to the mysterious and awesome Pyramids and Sphinx, the cruise ships glide leisurely along the banks of the majestic Nile, passing cameos of simple riverside life, still unchanged by modern influences.
