Hurtigruten offers a compelling and inspirational alternative to the traditional cruise experience, commanding a fleet of vessels that to this day still provides crucial services to some of the most remote coastal regions of Norway. Each is comfortably well-appointed for holidaymakers, with interiors evoking the rich folk heritage of this intriguing nation, including original works by acclaimed local artists.
A cruise with Hurtigruten ensures unparalleled opportunities for experiencing the myriad natural and cultural wonders of each destination, with a comprehensive range of amenities and creature comforts to occupy your time on board. We're sure you'll agree, however, that the real entertainment is to be found outside.
Hurtigruten's ships are small in size and can accommodate up to 1,000 passengers; they are working ships that serve the Norwegian coast providing vital transport links for local people. The MS Fram is an exception to this as it has been specifically designed for expedition voyages, such as adventures to Antartica. Hurtigruten offer a single sitting for dinner, with excellent menus planned around fresh, seasonal produce. They will appeal to those interested in unique and less visited destinations but there are still myriad facilities onboard with lounges – perfect for viewing the scenic coast, a library, café and bar, a sauna or Jacuzzi and a fitness room (not available on all ships).

Ship in the spotlight - MS Fram
MS Fram was specifically designed for expedition voyaging. The spacious outside decks include accessibility to the very front of the ship – a great place to observe marine wildlife. After dressing for shore side excursions and expedition landings you meet at the ‘tender pit’ where you safely embark the sturdy Polarcirkel boats and are taken ashore. Onboard facilities include a panoramic lounge, Internet area and Jacuzzis, whilst insightful lectures from experts onboard will bring each destination to life.

Undiscovered Destination - Antarctica
Situated in the southern hemisphere, Antarctica is approximately 14 million square kilometres in size (equivalent to nearly double the size of Australia). It is the coldest and driest continent in the world as well as being one of the cleanest.
You wouldn't think it, but Antarctica is brimming with natural beauty and wildlife; killer whales, seals, penguins are just some of the residents. The stunning blue sky enhances the dazzling beauty and shapes created by the snow and ice covered landscape. The aqua blue colour the icebergs create under the waters surface, the twinkling ice crystals, the unique wildlife and the fact that it is one of the last vast untouched wildernesses left in the world - all these make Antarctica special.
Why not explore this fascination destination on one of our Antarctica cruises before it is spoilt or even lost forever.
