The USA is blessed with an extraordinary number of scenic and spectacular national parks, many in close and convenient proximity to one another in the borderlands of Arizona and Utah. If boundless horizons and cinematically impressive landscapes sound like holiday heaven, consider this tour. It takes in not only the biggest attractions – undoubted natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Bryce and Arches – but also lesser-visited gems such as Lake Powell, Zion and the perfectly preserved Winslow Meteor Crater, combined with the insight of Native American guides and two nights at play in Las Vegas.
We depart for Lake Powell this morning where on arrival we take a scenic cruise on Lake Powell itself to Navajo Canyon to view the majestic deposits creating an appearance of a tapestry on the canyon walls. With stunning scenery along the way you will be afforded spectacular views of the Navajo Arch and Tower Butte. We later visit the Navajo-owned Antelope Canyon, America’s most visited ‘slot canyon’ (canyons much deeper than they are wide). The strata of colour and perfectly directed beams of sunlight render it endlessly photogenic. We arrive at our hotel this evening, the Lake Powell Resort.
