With dense evergreen forests, majestic mountain peaks gleaming white and gigantic icebergs crashing into the sea, Alaska’s Inside Passage presented an awe-inspiring backdrop to the Gold Rush of the 1890s. Follow in the wake of those optimistic pioneers on this wonderful cruise and tour, including three nights in Seattle, to enjoy the city’s many attractions and the nearby spectacle of Olympic National Park, and a 7-night journey aboard NCL’s resort-style Norwegian Pearl, exploring the scenic highlights of the Inside Passage, from the Alaskan capital, Juneau, to Skagway, the gateway to the Klondike goldfields for 19th century fortune-seekers.
We depart early this morning for our full day excursion to the magnificent Olympic National Park, where three distinct eco-systems can be found; the snow-capped high country and mountain vistas, the profuse greenery and huge trees of the rainforest, and wild Pacific coastline. During our visit you will stop at Hurricane Ridge from which you can take in the panoramic mountain vistas including the immense Mount Olympus, known as 'Home of the Gods'. We return to Seattle this evening.
