Music can be just as inspirational as pictures or other travellers’ experiences. Whether you are a lover of Classical Music or Rock and Roll, we invite you to view our tours that capture the history and experience of your favourite music.

The BBC Proms is always the music event of the year from classical to jazz to music from around the world.

For those of you inspired by the music of Haydn and R.Strauss, why not enter our Facebook competition to WIN two tickets to BBC Proms 75: Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at 7:30pm on Friday 7th September 2012 at the Royal Albert Hall, with the inclusion of our complimentary Titan's VIP Home Departure Service®.

    R.Strauss:

Born in Munich R.Strauss was a German composer of the late Romantic and early modern eras. Although known for his operas Strauss was also a reputable conductor throughout Germany and Austria. Some of his most famous work includes ‘An Alpine Symphony’, ‘Salome’ and many more. This year the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing An Alpine Symphony at the BBC Proms.

    Haydn:

Joseph Haydn was born in Rohrau, Austria and is often referred to as the ‘Father of the Symphony’ or ‘Father of String Quartet’. Haydn’s approach to music was significantly important into the introduction and history of classical music and was therefore one of the most influential composers in that era. With Haydn’s work ranging from Symphonies to string Quartets it is no wonder that the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will be reciting his well-known Symphony No. 104 in D major, ‘London’ at the Proms.

To delve into the history of music, take a look at our special collection of holidays.

    From Mozart to Bach

One of the most famous composers you might enjoy listening to is Mozart, which is why Titan Travel offers a couple of music holidays that give you the opportunity to discover more about him.

To explore where it all started, why not head to his Austrian home city of Salzburg? Here, you can read up on the life and works of the composer at his birthplace and house, which have been turned into museums.

Salzburg offers plenty more than just Mozart, however, with a stunning Italian Renaissance cathedral among the many sights to see. Moving on to historic places such as Mondsee, St Gilgen and St Wolfgang - which we believe are hidden gems in Austria - your musical journey will then take you through the Tyrolean countryside.

With stunning mountain backdrops, you could feel as though you have stepped back in time to when the Sound of Music was filmed.

Our trip to Vienna, Prague and Budapest celebrates Mozart's time in the Austrian capital, which is a city full of culture and elegance. From the parliament to Prince Eugene's Belvedere Palace, the beauty of the buildings here can appear overwhelming.

You will also visit Schonbrunn Palace, the childhood home of the 18th century queen of France Marie Antoinette and where Mozart is rumoured to have wowed the court with his musical abilities at the age of six.

Meanwhile, if you want to learn more about Bach, you can do so on our Prague, Dresden and Berlin getaway. He was not just a composer - with major works including Art of the Fugue and Brandenburg Concertos - but also a choirmaster.

You will be able to visit Bach's final resting place at St Thomas Church in Leipzig, where he was the choirmaster for more than 25 years,

Other highlights of this break include the Baroque Zwinger Palace, a cruise through the Elbe Valley and the Bradenburg Gate.
