Holiday in the Canary Islands
Gran Canaria is known as the small continent due to its varied landscapes with European, African and even American vegetation. Las Palmas, the island’s capital is located on the north eastern part of the island set in magnificent scenery composed of two bays and their beautiful beaches.
Nearly half of the island is protected and much of its flora is now unique to the Canary Islands. An optional excursion can be made to discover the varied flora of this beautiful island at the Jardín Viera and Calvijo, located in Tafira, which is Spain’s largest botanical garden with nearly 2,000 plant species, of which more than 500 are indigenous to Gran Canaria.
Santa Cruz, which according to many people is the most beautiful Canary Island is unspoilt by tourism and ideal for rest. Here you will find mountains and volcanoes, beaches and forests, a tropical rainforest, tiny villages with historic buildings, narrow cobbled streets and amazing views. Specialist clothes shops and arts and crafts can also be found here.
