This morning we begin with an orientation tour of Edinburgh by coach to help you acquaint yourself with the sights and sounds of this striking city. There is sure to be something for everyone, including history, culture and shopping. We visit the official Scottish residence, the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Built as an Augustinian monastery in 1128, James IV created the palace and was the first in a long list of kings and queens to reside here. This afternoon, we return to our hotel where the remainder of the day is at leisure. Or maybe stay in the city to visit Edinburgh Castle, a dominant feature on the skyline, or head to Princes Street for some last minute Christmas shopping. Enjoy a cocktail demonstration before dinner this evening. After dinner, sit back and enjoy a night at the movies.
Day 3 Christmas Day - Edinburgh
Merry Christmas! A Buck’s Fizz adds some sparkle to breakfast, after which you are free to relax within the surroundings of the hotel or you might like to head out for a breath of fresh air. Enjoy Christmas lunch, after which there will be a further opportunity to relax with tea/coffee and Christmas cake before settling in time for the Queen’s Speech. A buffet dinner will be served this evening at our hotel.

Enjoy a leisurely brunch this morning. We visit the Royal Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh, a world-renowned centre for plant science and education. The great glasshouses and outdoor collections offer a haven of 72 acres, with a great variety of beautiful and unusual plants. We also visit Royal Yacht Britannia, one of Scotland's most popular visitor attractions. It was the floating residence of the Queen and the royal family for over 40 years, sailing over 1,000,000 miles around the world. Following our visit, we return to the hotel, where there is time to relax before dinner this evening and live entertainment.
