2 nights in hotel, 7 nights tall ship cruise on Royal Clipper (accommodation as specified or similar)
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your journey to London Heathrow Airport and a direct, scheduled British Airways flight to Nice. Upon arrival, we transfer to nearby Antibes and the Hotel Ambassadeur Antibes (4T), where dinner is included this evening.
Day 2 Nice
Nice has long been a favourite for British travellers and expatriates, evidenced in the name of its beautiful seafront Promenade des Anglais. Take a walk in their footsteps on a guided tour this morning and discover the cultural and architectural treasures of one of France’s most alluring cities. The afternoon is then at leisure to explore further or return to your hotel and simply settle beside the pool for some well-deserved relaxation.
Day 3 Antibes - Cannes
Following a leisurely morning soaking up the Riviera sunshine in Antibes, we transfer to Cannes, home to the world-famous film festival, and embark Royal Clipper (4T). This majestic vessel sets sail later in the evening.
Day 4 - Lerici, Italy
It was in the Villa Magni near Lerici that Shelley spent his last days before fatefully sailing his small boat into a storm in July 1822. Lord Byron, his contemporary and another Lerici resident, once swam across La Spezia Bay, later renamed Golfo dei Poeti (Gulf of Poets). Modern-day visitors will find this delightful stretch of coastline just as inspiring, particularly the Cinque Terre-like fishing villages of San Terenzo, Tellaro and Monte Marcello.
Day 5 - Portoferraio, Elba, Italy
Elba is perhaps most renowned as Napoleon’s place of exile, and from his villa in Portoferraio, he must have looked out over the ships in the harbour and dreamed of a glorious return to power. As well as this enthralling heritage, make a visit to a local vineyard and discover the remains of an ancient Etruscan civilisation.
Day 6 - Palombiaggia - Bonifacio, Corsica
The ruggedly spectacular island of Corsica is our next port of call, and there are two distinct experiences to savour. In the morning, stroll the soft sands of Palombiaggia; and, in the afternoon, wander the bustling streets of the citadel town of Bonifacio, set dramatically around an ancient harbour.
Day 7 - Alghero, Sardinia, Italy
The enchantingly situated historic city of Alghero makes for a wonderful introduction to Sardinia. Its cobbled streets, lined with boutiques, bars and restaurants, are a delight to discover, as are its secluded bays and, a little further inland, its exceptional quality vineyards.
Day 8 - Porticcio Beach - Ajaccio, Corsica, France
Another day of twin delights in Corsica begins with a morning stop at Porticcio, a seaside resort noted for its fine beaches which overlooks the capital across the sparkling Gulf of Ajaccio. Then, in the afternoon, we visit Ajaccio itself - birthplace of Napoleon, it has a rich history, but don’t miss the opportunity to appreciate the pretty harbour, the stylish shops and the sublime French-Italian fusion cuisine.
Day 9 - Monte Carlo, Monaco.
Monaco is the fabled domain of princes and movie stars; home to the most glamorous motor race on earth and opulent casinos immortalised in film and fiction. Enjoy a (perhaps slightly envious) afternoon and evening amongst the gleaming mega-yachts of the marina, the exclusive boutiques and the exquisite restaurants of this gilt-edged playground.
Day 10 - Cannes - Nice - London
We bid farewell to Royal Clipper at Cannes this morning and transfer to Nice Airport for a direct, scheduled British Airways flight to London Heathrow. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
