Day 1 - Southampton
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your journey to Southampton, where our staff will greet you and assist with embarking Black Watch (3T+) in readiness for a late afternoon sailing.
Day 2 - At sea
Our voyage begins with a day on board, giving you time to relax, settle in and familiarise yourself with the extensive facilities.
Day 3 - Stavanger, Norway
Awarded ‘European Capital of Culture’ in 2008, this vibrant city not only has extravagant scenery but also a wealthy history of 1,000 years of ancient seafaring. We arrive early afternoon, with time to explore its old town, Gamle Stavanger, a wonderful place to take a stroll with narrow winding streets, beautiful, ancient wooden houses and a lively market selling fresh fish and vegetables. Here, you will also find the Oil Museum, home to drilling tools and a model oil platform.
Day 4 - Christmas Eve - At sea
Spend this Christmas Eve sailing north towards the Arctic Circle.
Day 5 - Christmas Day - At sea
Happy Christmas all! Celebrate in style and spend a memorable Christmas Day at sea. A fun-filled day awaits: Christmas lunch with all the trimmings; afternoon parlour games; a buffet supper; a memorable evening show; and of course Father Christmas will be on hand with presents and festive cheer.
Day 6 - Boxing Day - Alta (overnight)
Appealing for its potential views of the stunning Northern lights, Alta is elegant with a memorable history, having been inhabited by Sami people since prehistoric times. We arrive early afternoon and this evening may be spent searching the skies for these haunting displays. We dock overnight.
Day 7 - Alta
Just outside of Alta is the beautiful town of Hjemmeluft, with a fascinating collection of rock carvings dating from 2,000 to 6,200 years ago, that now form part of the Alta Museum. Through the town runs the Altafjord and Altealva River - said to have the best salmon fishing in the world - where you might see fish leaping up the river. We sail late evening.
Day 8 - Tromsø (overnight)
Tromsø has beautiful coastal views, outstanding neo-classical architecture and a number of stunning attractions to enjoy. We arrive early this morning and you may like to visit the Arctic Cathedral - shaped as an iceberg, this distinctive building was inspired by the outstanding landscapes of northern Norway. Later, explore the charming museums and galleries in the town including the Perspektivet Museum, home of the Art Museum of Northern Norway and the Mack Brewery.
Day 9 - Tromsø
Enjoy a trip to Polaria, an Arctic aquarium popular with both tourists and locals alike. Here, you will see huge tanks filled with a variety of Arctic fish species. A highlight of your time in Tromsø is a visit to the top of the Storsteinen Mountain via cable car; here you can capture astonishingly-beautiful views over Tromsø.
Day 10 - At sea
Day 11 - New Year’s Eve - Trondheim
The first Norwegian capital founded 1,000 years ago by Viking King Olav Trygvasson, offers interesting sights that can be enjoyed by foot. Visit the medieval cathedral, Nidarosdomen which is situated on the site of St Olav’s grave, a place of worship for medieval pilgrims. Later, explore the Archbishop’s Palace - a museum exhibiting artefacts, sculptures and gargoyles, the Sverresborg Trøndelag Folk Museum or beautiful Kristiansten Fortress. This evening, we welcome in the New Year on board.
Day 12 - New Year’s Day - Ålesund
After a leisurely morning, we arrive in Ålesund - an elegant city that was completely rebuilt in three years, after a fire in 1904 destroyed the area. Today, the beautiful city is home to art galleries, outstanding towers and turrets, beautiful architecture and spectacular, panoramic views that can be captured by climbing 418 steps to the top of Mount Aksla. Discover the city’s history by visiting Jugendstilsenteret - The National Art Nouveau Centre to see the town’s best-preserved art nouveau interior.
Day 13 - Bergen
One of the Hanseatic ports, Bergen’s heritage becomes clear when visiting the UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf. It is an interesting place to explore, with bright, colourful timbered houses, cobbled streets and a lively fish market. Another brilliant attraction in Bergen is the Troldhaugen Museum, once home to Edvard Grieg, Norway’s most famous composer.
Days 14-15 - At sea
More time to relax on board as we sail home.
Day 16 Southampton
We disembark after breakfast and you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
