Day 1 - Liverpool
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to Liverpool, where our staff will greet you and assist with embarking Boudicca (3T+) in preparation for a late evening sailing.
Day 2 - At sea
A full day at sea, giving you plenty of time to familiarise yourself with the extensive facilities on board Boudicca. Enjoy a dip in one of the two pools or meet up with fellow passengers over coffee in the Observatory Lounge.
Day 3 - Lerwick, Shetland Islands
Our first port of call is Lerwick, the capital of the Shetland Islands, and you have the day to explore this most northerly point of the UK at leisure. Maybe visit the Shetland Museum, with exhibitions chronicling the islands’ long and fascinating history from earliest times to the present day, and the Böd of Gremista, a restored 18th century ‘fishing booth’, now housing the collections of the Shetland Textile Museum. Anyone interested in our prehistoric past should head to Clickimin Broch, a well-preserved Iron Age fortified dwelling just outside Lerwick. We leave tonight.
Day 4 - Bergen, Norway
This morning, Boudicca arrives in Norway’s second city, Bergen, popularly known as the ‘gateway to the fjords’. Take a look around the Hanseatic Wharf, with its colourful timbered houses, restaurants, boutiques and artists’ studios and visit the medieval Haakon’s Hall, built by King Haakon Haakonson as a royal residence and banqueting hall 750 years ago. Alternatively, join our optional excursion to Troldhaugen, once the home of Norway’s best-loved composer, Edvard Grieg and now a museum. We will enjoy a short concert of Grieg’s works here and there will be time to explore the house and pretty gardens. We leave Bergen tonight.
Day 5 - Flåm - cruising Nærøyfjord
Standing on the banks of Aurlandsfjord and surrounded by orchards, farmland and magnificent mountain scenery, Flåm is known for its 20km-long railway, the Flåmsbana, one of the steepest train lines in the world, with a gradient of 5.5% on most of the route. The line passes through 20 tunnels on its way to Myrdal, 865 metres up, running through some of Norway’s wildest and most beautiful countryside, offering views of waterfalls, rivers and farms clinging to the sides of the mountains. The Flåmsbana Museum in the village tells the story of the railway’s design and construction. Leaving Flåm, we cruise along the spectacular Nærøyfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 6 - Olden - cruising Nordfjord
This morning we visit the little village of Olden, lying amid green meadows and babbling brooks on the southern shore of Nordfjord. In the centre of the village you’ll find the Old Church, built in 1759, and the Singerheimen, once the home of the American artist William Henry Singer and some of his paintings of the local area are on display in his studio. Olden is the gateway to mainland Europe’s largest glacier, the Jostedal Glacier and the best known glacier arm, Briksdal, which is set between tumbling waterfalls and high mountain peaks. Later today we sail along Nordfjord, one of Norway's longest and most picturesque fjords, towards the sea.
Days 7-8 - At sea
Relax and enjoy the facilities on board Boudicca as we sail back towards the UK. Catch up with friends on the Sun Deck, unwind with a massage in the spa centre and don’t miss the live music and cabaret shows.
Day 9 Liverpool
We disembark after breakfast and you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
