Day 1 - Dover
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to Dover where our staff will greet you and assist with embarking Black Watch (3T+) in readiness for a late afternoon sailing.
Days 2-3 - At sea
As we cruise towards Norway, a few days at sea provide the perfect opportunity for you to settle into onboard life.
Day 4 - Ålesund, Norway
Step ashore in Ålesund, a modern, art-nouveau town of colourful buildings, diverse shops, art galleries and lovely cafés. Climb 418 steps to the top of Mount Aksla to enjoy panoramic views, or travel through the beautiful Romsdalen Valley to see the magnificent, fable inspiring Troll Mountains to board the Rauma Railway, an incredible feat of engineering with steep climbs and impressive bridges traversing the valleys.
Day 5 - Crossing the Arctic Circle, cruising Rørvik, Black Glacier, Torghatten, Seven Sisters
Early this morning we cross the Arctic Circle and cruise alongside the pretty village of Rørvik to the imposing Black Glacier of Svartsen. Continue along the coast of Toget island past Torghatten, a mountain known for the distinctive natural hole through its centre, and the Seven Sisters mountain range on the island of Alsten. Seven majestic peaks dominate the scene, thousands of feet above sea level.
Day 6 - Harstad, Lofoten Islands
The 70 mile long Lofoten archipelago was divided by fjords during the Ice Age. As we cruise alongside the island of Harstad, you will find the typically jagged coastline dotted with fishing villages.
Day 7 - Alta
Considered one of the best places to experience the midnight sun, Alta has plenty of attractions during the day too. The indigenous Sami people have inhabited Alta since prehistoric times, however many of the buildings were rebuilt after World War II. Stroll along the Altaelva River and you may spot salmon leaping up the river or head just outside the town, at Hjemmeluft, to see Scandinavia’s largest collection of ancient rock carvings.
Day 8 - Honningsvåg (North Cape)
Honningsvåg is a beautiful fishing port and one of the most northerly inhabited places in Europe. There will be an optional excursion to the North Cape Plateau. You may be lucky enough to see reindeer grazing as you journey through the wild and desolate landscape. On top of the majestic cliff formation that represents the final frontier to the Arctic Ocean, 307 metres above the sea, sits the North Cape Hall, where you can view a film depicting the region through the seasons, browse in the shops, or, if the weather is fine, experience the panorama of the Arctic Ocean from the Globe, near the edge of the cliff. This is a place where the scenery, the Midnight Sun and the sense of standing at the very edge of the world never ceases to fascinate visitors.
Day 9 - Tromsø
After breakfast this morning, we have time in Tromsø, the ‘Paris of the North’. Tromsø is not just the largest town in Norway, it is also a town brimming with history and the city centre contains the largest number of wooden houses in Northern Norway, great to explore. Tromsø is home to the Arctic Cathedral and Fjellheisen Cable Car which offers access to the most breathtaking panoramic views.
Day 10 - At sea
Day 11 - Trondheim
Founded over a thousand years ago, Trondheim is packed with interesting sights, easily explored by foot. The historic centre is on a small island, connected by a series of bridges. Medieval pilgrims flocked here to worship at the tomb of St Olaf, in the beautiful Gothic style Nidaros Cathedral. Take a wander to the market square and you’ll find the statue of the Viking king, Olav Tryggvason, who founded this town in 997 AD. Several museums show fantastic collections of artefacts, gargoyles, furniture and jewellery from the town’s rich and noble past and its current artists.
Days 12-13 - At sea
A leisurely day to stroll around the deck, enjoy a drink at the bar or perhaps pamper yourself in the spa.
Day 14 Dover
Early morning arrival back in Dover where you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
