Day 2 Venice
You can utilise your Venice Travel Card today to explore the waterways of this unique city by public waterbus; the Grand Canal lives up to its name with magnificent Venetian architecture lining its banks all the way to the exceedingly elaborate Basilica di San Marco and Palazzo Ducale, the vast home of the Doge. Or perhaps you may prefer to stroll the narrow, cobbled streets on foot, the narrow backstreets lead to neighbourhood churches decorated with priceless marble and Renaissance art, and handsome Gothic palazzi with lively wine bars.
Day 3 Venice
Your last day to enjoy the delights of Venice such as the Guggenheim Museum, the iconic Rialto Bridge or the abundance of shops. Alternatively, your Venice Travel card will take you to the outlying islands of Lido, Murano, Burano, and Torcello. Known for their picturesque scenery, craft traditions and unique history, they offer a break from the bustle of Venice Island.
Day 4 Venice - Lake Garda
We take our private water taxi to the edge of the city where our coach awaits to take us to Lake Garda. We stop in Sirmione, a picturesque peninsula on Lake Garda and major Roman landmark, its most striking feature is its moated castle. We continue to our hotel, the Hotel Caesius Terme (4T), on the edge of the pretty village of Cisano, just across the road from Lake Garda, with a welcome drink on arrival.
Day 5 Lake Garda
Today we enjoy a short boat excursion on Italy’s largest lake to best appreciate the beauty of the surrounding scenery. The majestic landscape is shaped by morainic hills and mountains. The beautiful transparent blue waters are complimented by the verdant shores, where olive and lemon groves, palms, cypresses, oleanders and orange trees flourish.
Day 6 Verona
We travel to Verona this morning, one of Italy’s loveliest towns. A guided tour gives you an overview of this compact city - and this includes entrance to the grandiose 1st century AD Roman Arena that is now used every summer for the famous Verona opera. We will also see Juliet’s balcony and statue. After some time to explore the attractive medieval lanes independently, we return to Lake Garda.
Day 7 Lake Garda
You are at leisure today for a final day of relaxation by the lake. The resort of Bardolino is just a 30 minute lakeside walk away. One of Lake Garda’s livelier resorts, filled with independent shops, pavement cafés and pizzerias, and sprinkled with reminders of its long history including ruins of a 14th century castle. It is best known for the wine and olive oil produced from the surrounding vines. Continue another 3km along the promenade and you’ll find yourself in the beautiful town of Garda.
Day 8 Lake Garda - Verona - London
We depart by coach today to Verona Airport for a direct, scheduled British Airways flight to London Gatwick Airport. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
