Day 1 London - Seville, Spain
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your journey to London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport and a direct, scheduled British Airways or another leading airline flight to Seville. On arrival, you will be met by Voyages to Antiquity representatives and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 Seville
We enjoy an excursion to the beautiful city of Cordoba today, once capital of the Moorish territory of Al-Andalus, visiting the eighth century Great Mosque, converted into a cathedral following the Reconquista and the Roman Bridge, constructed in the first century BC.
Day 3 - Seville
This morning we take a sightseeing tour of Seville, visiting the beautiful Alcazar palace, built for the Moorish rulers of Al-Andalus and still used as an official royal residence by the King of Spain. Later we embark Aegean Odyssey (4T), and spend the afternoon cruising along the Guadalquivir River.
Day 4 - At sea
Enjoy a leisurely day at sea, with lectures and other activities planned.
Day 5 - Lisbon, Portugal
We arrive in Lisbon this morning, where our included tour takes in sights such as the Belem Tower, the Jeronimos Monastery, which houses the tomb of the explorer Vasco da Gama, and the historic Alfama district. This afternoon is free, with optional excursions available.
Day 6 - Porto
This afternoon’s walking tour of Porto takes us to the city’s Romanesque cathedral and the grand 19th century Stock Exchange Palace, before we cross the River Douro to visit a wine cellar for a port wine tasting session.
Day 7 - Vigo, Spain
From Vigo we embark on an excursion to Santiago de Compostela, visiting the magnificent cathedral. Said to house the relics of the Apostle St James, it is the final stop on the Way of St James pilgrimage route. We stop for lunch and leave Vigo this evening.
Day 8 - At sea
Relax on board ship today as we sail towards France.
Day 9 - Cruising the Gironde estuary, France - Bordeaux (overnight)
We cruise up the Gironde estuary this afternoon, berthing in the heart of Bordeaux this evening for an overnight stay.
Day 10 - Bordeaux
You have a choice of tours today. The first takes you on a walking tour of Bordeaux, visiting the Place des Quinconces, one of Europe’s largest squares, and the 18th century Palais Rohan. On the second, you’ll visit one of the region’s world-famous vineyards to visit the cellars and enjoy a wine tasting.
Day 11 - At sea
Enjoy the programme of lectures and onboard activities as we spend the day at sea.
Day 12 - Falmouth
Choose between two included excursions from Falmouth today. Visit the Eden Project, with its distinctive domed biomes, housing thousands of rainforest and Mediterranean plant species, or head to St Michael’s Mount for a guided tour of the castle.
Day 13 - Dartmouth
Two excursions are offered from Dartmouth. At Slapton Sands you’ll learn about the ill-fated preparations for the D-Day landings, where 749 US servicemen were killed in a German E-boat attack. Alternatively, visit Totnes and the Benedictine Buckfast Abbey, rebuilt on its medieval foundations at the beginning of the 20th century.
Day 14 - Honfleur, France
Today’s choice of excursions include a walking tour of the picturesque harbour-town of Honfleur and the nearby seaside resort of Deauville, a visit to Bayeux, including the Tapestry Museum, and the D-Day Museum in Arromanches, or a visit to Caen and the D-Day Beaches.
Day 15 London Tilbury
After breakfast this morning, disembark Aegean Odyssey, where you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
