Day 1 London - Athens, Greece
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport and a direct, scheduled British Airways or another leading airline flight to Athens. On arrival, you are met by Voyages to Antiquity representatives and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 Athens
A choice of included tours of Athens allows you to explore the city's ancient wonders and its Byzantine heritage.
Day 3 Athens
Day at leisure to explore Athens at your own pace.
Day 4 - Athens - Piraeus
Visit Epidaurus and Corinth before transferring to Aegean Odyssey (4T) in Piraeus for an evening departure.
Day 5 - Hydra
Visit this gem of an island, free of wheeled transport and a joy to wander around.
Day 6 - Santorini (Akrotiri)
The Minoan settlement of Akrotiri is a tour highlight, the excavations here have uncovered one of the most important prehistoric settlements of the Aegean. You also visit Fira town this afternoon. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 7 - Heraklion, Crete
Tour the Minoan Palace of Knossos, said to be the birthplace of the Minotaur. It is a magnificent palace complex with flamboyant decoration, courts, audience chambers and residential areas.
Day 8 - Rhodes
The next port of call is Rhodes with a chance to explore Rhodes Old Town and the Citadel of the Knights of St John. There is also a choice of tours to Rhodes town or the Acropolis at Lindos.
Day 9 - Delos - Mykonos
This morning you visit the island of Delos, with a tour including visits to the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Avenue of the Lions, and the Sacred Harbour. After lunch, visit Mykonos and enjoy an afternoon at leisure. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 10 - Patmos
Visit the small cave where St John received his revelation, the medieval village of Chora and the Monastery of St John the Theologian - together a UNESCO World Heritage Site that constitutes an exceptional example of a Greek Orthodox pilgrimage centre. A short drive takes you from port to the grotto where St John once lived and the 12th century village of Chora and the Monastery of St John the Theologian which dominates the town. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 11 - Kavala (Philippi)
Visit the city founded by (and named after) Philip of Macedonia in 356BC, confront antiquity at every turn of its extraordinary archaeological site, and, in addition, visit the stream where St Paul's first European convert to Christianity was baptised.
Day 12 - Thessalonica
A choice of excursions today - decide between Byzantine Thessalonica or a city tour. Byzantine emperors held Thessalonica (also known as Salonica) second only in importance to Constantinople, and today the city is an open-air museum with Christian monuments dating from the 4th to the 21st century. Alternatively, a city tour allows you to enter the ancient walls of Thessalonica to discover its wondrous monuments. The past has left a splendid variety of art and architecture from the Hellenistic era to the present, witness to a far-reaching heritage.
Day 13 - Volos (Meteora)
Perhaps the highlight of any trip to Greece is the sight of the Byzantine monasteries built atop the rock towers of Meteora. The very word means ‘suspended in air’ and their effect is unforgettable. These sandstone ‘columns in the sky’ soar up over a thousand feet above sea level and are crowned with monasteries built by anchorite monks from the 11th century onward. In all, there are twenty-four monasteries in Meteora, and while many have fallen into ruin, some of those that remain are adorned with beautiful frescoes.
Day 14 - Skiathos, Greece
Cruise past Mount Athos in the morning and enjoy a leisurely walk in Skiathos in the afternoon. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 15 Piraeus - Athens - London
This morning you disembark Aegean Odyssey after breakfast and are transferred to Athens Airport for a direct, scheduled British Airways or another leading airline flight to London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
