Day 1 - London - Berlin - Potsdam
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for the journey to London Heathrow Airport and a direct, scheduled British Airways flight to Berlin. On arrival, we transfer to the port to embark MS Johannes Brahms (3T+). Enjoy dinner as we cruise into Potsdam, where we spend tonight on board.
Day 2 - Potsdam - Brandenburg
Enjoy a morning in Potsdam, the city of palaces and parks and the former centre of Prussia. You might like to take an optional tour of the city before we sail for Brandenburg. Enjoy views of the beautiful countryside, a labyrinth of lakes and rivers, and mountain peaks providing backdrops for beautiful ancient towns. You might like to take vibrant an optional walking tour of this metropolis of castles and gardens or use the time for independent exploration.
Day 3 - Magdeburg - Calvörde - Wolfsburg
Arriving in Magdeburg after breakfast, we travel to the Harz Mountains for a full day included tour, stopping at historic towns on the way. The Brocken, the crown of this mountain range, is featured in European folklore, with every crag hiding a giant, goblin or gnome, and witches are still feared. Unsurprisingly, The Brothers Grimm collected many of their stories from this area, which is also known for the many silver mines that offered work to the villagers. We continue to Calvörde where we meet the ship late this afternoon, and continue to Wolfsburg where we dock overnight.
Day 4 - Wolfsburg - Peine - Hanover
Spend a morning Wolfsburg, the young city full of modern ideas. An optional excursion will take you to the ground-breaking Volkswagen factory, before we continue west to Hanover where we dock overnight.
Day 5 - Minden - Stolzenau
Early this morning we continue along the Midland Canal, Germany’s longest artificial waterway, to Minden, where a monument of Kaiser Wilhelm dominates the town. From here, the Schachtscleuse lock transports us from the canal to the River Weser, to allow our passage on to Stolzenau.
Day 6 - Bremen
Enjoy a leisurely start as our cruise continues early this morning, arriving in Bremen after lunch. Disembark here to enjoy an included tour of this Hanseatic city’s many attractions. The city’s oldest district, the Schnoor quarter, is a maze of delightful streets with 15th and 16th century houses. St Peter’s Cathedral and the splendid town hall are also worth a visit.
Day 7 - Overnight stop
We continue sailing the Küsten Canal and dock overnight.
Day 8 - Papenburg - Groningen
This morning you have the opportunity to visit Meyer Shipyard in Papenburg, a city that has grown around its shipbuilding and navigation past. This optional excursion offers views of large cruise ships under construction and an insight into the mechanics that have changed production over the last 200 years. We continue across the border to the ancient city of Groningen. As with many Dutch cities, Groningen has several canals running through its centre.
Day 9 - Lemmer
Sail on to Lemmer where we dock overnight. Arriving late in the afternoon, you might like to take this opportunity to explore this popular town.
Day 10 - Amsterdam
Go ashore after lunch to enjoy an included tour of Amsterdam, a small city full of world-famous sites and museums including the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank House. This capital offers beautiful tree-lined canals to follow, including the Canal Ring which was dug in 17th century to attract wealthy residents. Within these UNESCO-listed rings of water is the Old Centre, where a multitude of cafés offer a place to relax with delightful views of traditional architecture.
Day 11 Amsterdam - London
We disembark this morning and transfer to Amsterdam Airport for a direct, scheduled British Airways flight to London Heathrow. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
