Day 1 - London - Amsterdam
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport and a direct, scheduled British Airways flight to Amsterdam. Upon arrival we transfer to MS Bellejour (4T), where you will be welcomed on board.
Day 2 - Cruising the Rhine
Spend the day settling into the gentle lifestyle of river cruising as we navigate the Rhine to Cologne. Tonight we enjoy a welcome reception followed by dinner.
Day 3 - Cologne
We sail into Cologne as we enjoy breakfast this morning and disembark in this city that proudly shows its history through its array of architecture as you stumble from nondescript post-war buildings to medieval churches and Roman walls. Explore independently, take in one of the many museums including House of Fragrances and the Chocolate Museum, or take an optional guided city tour. Cologne Cathedral is definitely worth visiting to see the Shrine of the Magi, the fabled Three Kings.
Day 4 - Koblenz
We arrive in Koblenz for the morning. An optional walking tour begins at the famous ‘DeutschesEck’ (German Corner), where the Moselle joins the Rhine. The giant monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I is located here as well, of which the pedestal served as a memorial to German unity from 1953 until the reunification in 1990. During a guided stroll through the city, you will see the Basilica of St Castor from the 12th century, the Schängel fountain, a local emblem of the city, the Jesuit church, which was rebuilt in 1959, and the Town Hall. We sail onward after lunch, towards Mannheim.
Day 5 - Mannheim (Heidelberg) - Speyer
We dock in Mannheim early this morning and, after breakfast, transfer to Heidelberg for an included city tour through its Gothic streets. The 16th century Student Jail was used to keep mischievous students off the streets for up to a month at a time! This afternoon, you may wish to take an additional optional tour to Speyer. A city with an ancient history, the Cathedral of the Salian Emperors is rightly considered one of the most beautiful Romanesque buildings in Europe.
Day 6 - Kehl (Strasbourg)
After breakfast, we set foot on French soil as we take an included tour of Strasbourg City, taking in the beautifully-preserved, historic centre classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the gorgeous half-timbered town houses that lean over the narrow cobbled streets of Petite France.
Day 7 - Breisach
This morning, we arrive in Breisach, often referred to as the gateway to the Black Forest. Its Cathedral of St Stephanus oversees the city and also towers above the Rhine itself, making it a useful landmark around which to explore. We begin our final journey in the evening and sail towards Basel.
Day 8 Basel - London
We disembark and transfer to the airport for a direct, scheduled British Airways flight to London Heathrow Airport. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
