Day 1 - London Tilbury
At London Tilbury Port, embark Columbus (3T) in preparation for a late afternoon sailing.
Day 2 - Amsterdam, Netherlands
We arrive in charming Amsterdam, the vibrant Dutch capital that has more bicycles than permanent residents. Enjoy the historic architecture, numerous art galleries and museums and pretty bridges crossing the beautiful tree-lined canals. The easy-going atmosphere is perfect for relaxing in one of the many trendy cafes, or you can explore the city on one of the optional excursions available today. Perhaps discover the Anne Frank House, where Anne was forced to hide during World War II. Or, enjoy a guided walking tour of the old centre learning of the history behind its architecture and famous sights including the Royal Palace, St Nicholas Church and the Jordaan district.
Day 3 - At sea
Enjoy a relaxing day at sea.
Day 4 - Copenhagen, Denmark
Different coloured town houses line Copenhagen’s charming waterfront, Nyhavn. Bursting with not only colour but a friendly atmosphere, cobblestone streets, attractive cafes, and fascinating architecture, the city is one of Europe’s most fascinating. Discover the city on a walking and canal cruise excursion; begin on foot exploring the beautiful harbour front, Langelinie Yacht Marina and past the Gefion Fountain, St Alban Church and Amaliegarden. Later enjoy a delicious Danish pastry at the Odd Fellow Mansion and embark a picturesque canal boat through the charming waters that reflect the stunning architecture. Or choose to visit Christianborg Palace, boasting rich décor in every room including grand chandeliers, beautiful paintings and magnificent furnishings.
Day 5 - Warnemünde, Germany
This morning we arrive in Warnemünde, the modern port city with easy access to Berlin. Perhaps join a full-day tour there to explore the city’s highlights and the history of the Cold War, including Charlottenburg Palace and the Government Quarter. Or, tour the fairytale Castle Schwerin, where after a scenic lake cruise you approach the grand structure and see the marvellous throne room, library, elegant rooms decorated with unique, detailed woodworks. You can also enjoy a little ‘trolley-train’ to Schwerin’s highlights including the Cathedral, Town Hall, Regional Parliament and Old Market.
Day 6 - At sea
We sail towards Tallinn; you can simply relax on board or join in with today’s onboard activities.
Day 7 - Tallinn, Estonia
This morning we arrive in Tallinn, Estonia’s sophisticated capital enriched with well-preserved architecture. Discover the spectacular medieval Old Town, home to the Tall Hermann, a watchtower originally built in 1371 still gracing the glorious skyline today; the impressive 13th century Toompea Castle, which is now the Estonian Parliament residence; and the onion-domed Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Or you may wish to join a panoramic tour of Tallinn’s architectural heritage which involves a journey through the sights of the Old Town and a scenic drive through the spectacular outskirts visiting the Song Festival Ground - an impressive amphitheatre capable of holding 30,000 spectators.
Days 8-9 - St Petersburg, Russia (overnight)
Russia’s imperial capital, dazzling with charm, fascinating culture, elegant theatres and grand museums, St Petersburg is a mesmerising, unforgettable city. As one of the world’s most famous ballet centres it seems only fitting to opt for an evening performance of classical ballet at a venue found in the heart of this glorious city. Alternatively, spend your time exploring during your two days here; there are a number of excursions visiting the region’s highlights such as the Hermitage Museum, Catherine Palace and Park, Peter & Paul Fortress and Peterhof Palace & Gardens.
Day 10 - Helsinki, Finland
Helsinki, Finland’s capital and vibrant seaside city is our port of call today. Boasting beautiful bays and stunning inlets and islands, Helsinki is the perfect place to embark on water adventures. Join a graceful walking tour of Helsinki beginning with a scenic coach journey from the pier, marvel at the city’s highlights including the central station of Eliel Saarinen, the outstanding National Theatre, Kiasma Museum and the beautiful Parliament House.
Day 11 - Stockholm, Sweden
We arrive in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm; a city spread over 14 stunning islands. Full of character and historic gems such as the ancient Old Town, it is also home to the striking Royal Palace. Cobblestone streets lead to beautiful sights such as the Mårten Trotzigs Gränd - the narrowest street in Stockholm - and the Stortorget, the oldest square in Stockholm with grand 15th and 16th century buildings. Waterways and 57 beautiful bridges link Stockholm’s 14 islands and you can explore on an optional cruise which passes parks, tree-lined canals, pretty boulevards and fine architecture.
Day 12 - At sea
Relax on board as we sail towards Aalborg.
Day 13 - Aalborg, Denmark
We arrive in Denmark’s fourth largest city, Aalborg. Historic monuments are scattered throughout, including remains from the Viking Age. Explore the region’s magnificent past on a selection of exciting optional excursions; visit the spectacular renaissance Voergaard Castle, Budolfi Cathedral dating back to 1400 or the well-preserved Jens Bangs Stonehouse. Alternatively, you can see some more diverse sights by taking a Beer walk which involves visiting three traditional pubs to taste their various beer selections, or join a Viking Experience, taking you to a Viking burial site; exhibition and a tasting of traditional food from the time.
Day 14 - At sea
Relax on board as we sail home.
Day 15 London Tilbury
Arrive at London Tilbury Port.
