Day 1 London - Venice - Umag
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Gatwick Airport for your direct, scheduled British Airways flight to Venice. We take a short guided tour of Venice, before we transfer through Slovenia to Croatia. We check into the Hotel Sol Umag (4T) for three nights, and we enjoy dinner.
Day 2 Umag
This morning we explore Umag, before travelling further afield to discover the reasons why the Istrian peninsula is called ‘terra magica’ or ‘magic land’. We start with a winery in Momjan, where we sample the award-winning wines produced by this Istrian family. We then proceed to the village of Livade where the Zigante family will show us how they developed their business around Istria’s most precious underground treasure - the truffle. After tasting the aromatic and precious truffles, we proceed to the hilltop town of Motovun to enjoy some Istrian history and fantastic views before returning to the hotel for dinner.
Day 3 Umag
After breakfast, enjoy a visit to the picturesque and charming town of Rovinj, with its windy streets, local artists and charming cafés. Spend time at leisure to have lunch and take in this idyllic place. Our next stop will be the largest town in Istria - Pula - which is most famous for its magnificently-preserved Roman amphitheatre. We return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 4 - Umag - Rijeka - Krk Island
We depart from the hotel after breakfast, heading on to Rijeka at the other side of the peninsula. On arrival at Rijeka harbour, we embark the MV Amalia (3T). After a light lunch on board, we take a walking tour of Rijeka before returning to the ship and sailing to Krk, where we have a welcome dinner in an authentic restaurant.
Day 5 - Krk Island - Rab Island
After breakfast we enjoy a walking tour of Krk Island before we cruise towards Rab Island, known as the ‘island of love’. We take lunch on board, followed by some sightseeing in the town of Rab, which is encircled by medieval walls, Romanesque church towers, churches and palaces, stone streets and ancient façades. Enjoy the ‘gallery’ on the streets and squares where many painters and artists exhibit their works, and we include a walk to a local cake and chocolate manufacturer, who will show you how to make the most famous sweet on the island - the Rab cake.
Day 6 - Rab Island - Pag Island
Early morning, we sail on to Mandre on Pag Island. From Mandre, we enjoy a half-day excursion to the town of Pag, including the Pag lace exhibition. We indulge in some cheese tasting at one of the finest cheese factories on the Island.
Day 7 - Pag Island - Zadar
We cruise along Pag Island, towards Zadar. Enjoy the sightseeing tour of the city, which was the metropolis of Dalmatia for centuries, and today the centre of the region, Zadar is rich in monumental heritage of world importance, visible at every step. This afternoon, enjoy a city walking tour and see the Roman forum dated to the 1st century AD, the church of St Donatus dated to the 9th century AD - the most famous medieval basilica and the symbol of the city - the mighty city walls with representative Port and Land gates from the 16th century AD, and numerous palaces, and villas. Of special interest are the famous Zadar Sea Organs, one of a kind in the world, and ‘The Greeting to the Sun’ installation. We overnight in Zadar. The centre of town is full of great restaurants.
Day 8 - Zadar - Ilovik Island - Lošinj Island
After breakfast, we cruise towards Ilovik, the island of flowers, after which we depart for Mali Lošinj island, known as the ‘sunshine island’, which is one of the most popular islands on the northern Adriatic, due to its abundance of pine trees and clear waters. On arrival you might like to take a walk along the harbour or simply visit the nearby, picturesque, town of Veli Lošinj. We overnight in Mali Lošinj.
Day 9 - Lošinj Island - Cres Island
We cruise towards Cres Island today, a long and narrow island covered with oak, beech and pine forests as well as vineyards and olive tree plantations. Cres and Mali Lošinj used to be one island before a channel dug by the Romans separated them. We enjoy a walking tour of the medieval city of Cres, sampling some olive oil on the way. We overnight in Cres.
Day 10 - Cres Island - Opatija
After breakfast we leave for Opatija, experiencing the fabulous views of the Opatija Riviera en route. Lunch is served on board before arriving early afternoon. We do some sightseeing, which will be followed by some leisure time, perhaps strolling along the Franz Joseph Lungo Mare (promenade) with its numerous cafés and restaurants, or visiting the nearby fisherman’s village of Volosko, well known for its excellent seafood restaurants - some of the best in Croatia. For our last night, we have a farewell dinner party on board the ship with live music.
Day 11 Opatija - Zagreb - London
After breakfast, we disembark and drive inland to Zagreb Airport for your direct, scheduled British Airways flight to London Heathrow. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
