Base your Christmas holiday in the charming Tyrolean village of Stans, the perfect location for a tranquil and relaxing festive break. We include a walking tour of the city of Innsbruck, where we discover treasures such as the Imperial Palace, St Jacob’s Cathedral and Annasäule, a column supporting a statue of the Virgin Mary. We then delve deeper into the Tyrol visiting the elegant ski resorts of Seefeld and Oberammergau, famed for the Passion Play performed here every 10 years. We also enjoy an exciting funicular journey to Seegrube, and a scenic drive through the beautiful Tyrolean countryside. Christmas is arguably the most important holiday in Austria and our aim is to make it a memorable and festive time for you offering a wonderful combination of ancient culture, rich history and the spectacular landscape of the Alps.

Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for the journey to London Heathrow Airport and your direct, scheduled Lufthansa flight to Munich. On arrival we transfer into the Tyrol and the Wellness Hotel Schwarzbrunn (4T) in Stans, where we enjoy a welcome drink followed by dinner this evening.
Day 2 Innsbruck
This morning we depart for Innsbruck for a guided walking tour. The city came to prominence during the 14th century under the Habsburg dynasty, when it reached the height of its cultural and political importance. The main street of the old town is the Herzog-Friedrich Strasse and close by is the beautiful Baroque Cathedral of St Jacob, built in 1720. The interior is roofed with domes, three on the nave and a dome with a lantern on the chancel. The picture of our Lady of Succour painted by Lucas Cranach occupies a position high above the altar. The Imperial Palace, rebuilt by Empress Maria Theresia in 1777, features a Rococo-style hall, ceiling frescoes, valuable pictures and tapestry. In the afternoon you are free to relax before dinner is served this evening.
Day 3 Tyrolean Mountains
Today we explore the region of the Wetterstein Mountains visiting Seefeld, an elegant country resort. We continue through the gap town of Mittenwald to Garmisch situated on the edge of the Bavarian Alps. The old parish church stands on the left bank of the Loisach in the picturesque district where chalets have been carefully preserved. The wooded foothills of the Ammergau Alps, from which the Kofel peak rises, surround the attractive little towns of Ettal and Oberammergau with their painted houses. Oberammergau is also famed for its Passion Play, performed by the inhabitants of the village every ten years. We return to our hotel for dinner this evening.
Day 4 Christmas Eve - Seegrube
After breakfast you can enjoy a carriage ride across the village and its surroundings. Following this our coach takes us to Innsbruck, to board the Hungerburg funicular for the exciting journey to Seegrube, over 7,000 feet above sea level. From here the views are magnificent with the snowy Alpine peaks in the background providing a fairytale setting. Visit the famous Christmas markets in Innsbruck. We return to our hotel for a Christmas Gala dinner.
Day 5 Christmas Day - Stans
This morning the hotel will decorate the Christmas tree and you are free before a traditional Christmas lunch is served. After lunch you can join the pastry chef for the preparation of Christmas biscuits (Kekse) and the famous apple strudel. Following this the cellar master will invite you to a tasting of Austrian wines. Enjoy dinner this evening, followed by an evening of dancing and live music.
Day 6 Boxing Day - Tyrolean Villages
We set off for a wonderful scenic drive through the Tyrolean countryside. Our first stop is Hall in Tyrol, a delightful medieval town lying in the heart of the Inn Valley, with many fine buildings. From here our journey takes us to the village of Alpbach with its stylish Tyrolean chalets creating an atmosphere all of their own. Later in the day we visit Rattenberg, once a tiny frontier town which has retained its early Renaissance charm and appearance. The town is famed for its handicrafts and engraved glassware and we have a tour of a glass manufacturers. We have an included lunch at Haus Andreas in Alpbach and a tasting of Tyrolean sausages.
Day 7 Stans - Munich - London
We transfer to Munich Airport for your direct, scheduled Lufthansa flight to London Heathrow Airport. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
