Days 4-5 - At sea
Relax and enjoy the onboard hospitality.
Day 6 - Benoa, Bali, Indonesia
Bali is enchanting - a lush, verdant isle and a deeply spiritual place, where artful offerings of flowers and incense are ever present. While visiting the city, look for Pasar Badung - the main market, visit the Bali Museum and explore the busy area of Kuta for a plethora of shops, markets and restaurants. Alternatively, take a trip to Klungkung. Once the centre of Bali's most important kingdom - the Gelgel Dynasty - it was a great artistic and cultural focal point. Or take an elephant safari ride at Taro, acclaimed as one of the world's best elephant parks with more than two hectares of exotic landscaped botanical gardens, tranquil forest and bathing lakes for these majestic animals to roam.
Day 7 - Komodo
Komodo is an island most commonly linked with its wildlife, in particular the world’s largest living lizard - the Komodo dragon. The National Park is dedicated to protecting this prime inhabitant, as well as the surrounding marine life that enjoys the extensive coral reefs, mangroves and semi-enclosed bays - dugong, sharks, manta rays and at least 14 species of whales, dolphins and sea turtles live in these waters. The deserted beaches of rare pale pink sand are another reason why this mini archipelago has been voted one of the New7Wonders of Nature. Ship to shore tender service.
Days 8-9 - At sea
Day 10 - Darwin, Australia
Wake up in the port of Darwin, capital of Australia’s Northern Territory. With a history of devastating cyclones combined with World War II air raids, Darwin now has a modern vibe with a strong Chinese culture and tantalising markets, but it’s the surrounding parks that are the biggest draw. East of Darwin is Kakadu National Park, 20,000sq km of sandstone escarpment, woodlands and swamps that grow and shrink with the tropical climate. Maybe cruise the Adelaide River to find saltwater crocodiles or view traditional art on the walls of Kakadu’s caves; there are 5,000 sites ranging from 30 to 20,000 years old. Enjoy an included AzAmazingSM evening at Crocosaurus Cove.
Days 11-12 - At sea
Day 13 - Thursday Island
Due to its location between Australia and Papua New Guinea, Thursday Island’s population is a diverse mix of cultures, and the indigenous people are not Aborigines but Melanesians, who sailed from Melanesia and Polynesia over 2,000 years ago, bringing their unique culture and language. For spectacular views over Australia’s most northerly frontier, take a hike to Green Hill Fort, built on the highest point of Thursday Island in response to a Russian war scare, where a museum is now housed in the refurbished rooms. Or learn more about the culture and history of the Torres Strait at the Gab Titui Cultural Centre. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 14 - At sea
Day 15 - Port Douglas
The picturesque seaside village of Port Douglas is moments away from the spectacular palmed fringed Four Mile Beach and the Great Barrier Reef, and close to the stunning Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, home to some of the oldest forests in the world and a treasure trove of rare plant and animal species, as well as over 400 species of birds. This is all just a small part of the vast tribal area of the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people and there are opportunities to experience their culture at aboriginal art galleries or with tours in the rainforest. The beautiful forests will certainly not disappoint those who choose to stay on land rather than cruise to the Great Barrier Reef. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 16 - Cairns
Today we have a second opportunity to experience the Great Barrier Reef, filled with incredible beaches, coral reefs, and turquoise blue waters where you can swim, snorkel, dive and enjoy a living masterpiece. Alternatively, take a scenic railway journey from Cairns to the tranquil village of Kuranda, to explore a rainforest nature park which is home to colourful parrots, butterflies, platypus, fresh water crocodiles and koalas. A trip to Atherton Tableland can include visiting three fantastic waterfalls and Platypus Park to see these unique creatures in their natural habitat.
Day 17 - Townsville
While in Townsville, a town of gold-funded colonial buildings, maybe visit the Reef HQ Great Barrier Reef Aquarium, the world’s largest living coral reef aquarium; the Museum of Tropical Queensland for famous shipwrecks; or climb the top of Mount Stuart for spectacular panoramic views of Townsville and the surrounding area. Just offshore is Magnetic Island, named by Captain Cook. The island’s National Park of rocky landscapes, eucalypt woodlands, tranquil sandy bays and coral reefs has an abundance of animal life, including wallabies and over 800 koalas.
Day 18 - Hamilton Island, Whitsundays
Amongst the 74 Whitsunday Islands, Hamilton Island offers the opportunity to explore immaculate beaches and coral reefs unlike any other. Whitehaven Beach is one of the most popular beaches, yet you will find few footprints in the 7km of pristine silica sand. Lapped gently by warm, crystal clear aqua waters, it really is picture perfect. And of course, the spectacular Great Barrier Reef, home to numerous species of marine life, is just a short journey away. Ship to shore tender service.
Days 19-20 - At sea
Day 21 Sydney - In flight
We arrive in Sydney this morning and, after breakfast, we disembark to embrace city life once more with a short orientation tour. This historically important city is the most populated in the country, with a creative flare, a love of shopping and many beaches to encourage an active life. See the iconic Harbour Bridge and Opera House before transferring to Sydney Airport, for our scheduled British Airways flight to London.
Day 22 London
Arrival at London Heathrow Airport where you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
