Day 1 London - Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Gatwick Airport and direct, scheduled British Airways flight to Tenerife. We transfer to Puerto de la Cruz and our hotel, the well-appointed Best Semiramis Hotel (4T).
Day 2 San Cristóbal de la Laguna
San Cristóbal de La Laguna was the first non-fortified Spanish colonial town, its layout provided the model for many colonial towns in the Americas and this historic city centre has maintained its grid layout intact. In the late 16th century, during the reign of King Phillip II, engineer Torriani drew his plans of La Laguna, with an urban structure consisting of 400 buildings that have been listed with different degrees of monumental or environmental protection. For an interesting cultural visit, we would recommend a walk through the streets of La Laguna.
Day 3 Puerto de la Cruz
Take a day at leisure to relax and enjoy the hotel’s facilities and spectacular views over the ocean from its cliff-top location. You will find an abundance of ways to enjoy your day, whether it’s studying fine art in museums, marvelling in the beauty of the island on a walk through the parks or visiting one of Tenerife’s beautiful beaches.
Day 4 - Santa Cruz
We transfer to Braemar (3T+) for an afternoon embarkation, with time to settle into your cabin before dinner tonight and a late night sailing.
Day 5 - San Sebastian, La Gomera
Just a short distance from the shores of Tenerife lays lesser-known La Gomera. It was the last port of call for Christopher Columbus before crossing the Atlantic, earning it the moniker ‘Isla Colombina’. San Sebastian, the island’s beautiful city, has the grandeur of a capital with the feeling of a small sun-blessed town, but more importantly, it is the gateway to a stunning island. The rolling rocky terrain is smothered with greenery, the mountainous peaks soaring high above any passing cloud and the lush valleys sheltering indigenous flora and wildlife.
Day 6 - La Estaca, El Hierro
El Hierro - the smallest and most southerly of the Canary Islands - was once believed to be the end of the earth and even today it remains away from the well-trodden tourist path of the Canaries. Experience the island’s incredible natural beauty, unspoilt landscapes and a UNESCO-listed Biosphere Reserve that is home to crystal clear natural swimming pools and stunning protected woodland areas. The flourishing landscapes of the La Frontera district feels like a tropical land with an abundance of fruit trees and stunning views of vast cliffs.
Days 7-8 - At sea
Enjoy two days at sea as we sail to the Cape Verde Islands.
Day 9 - Praia, Cape Verde Islands
For our first taste of the Cape Verde Islands, we head to the capital. Praia has shaped itself around the island’s vast rock faces and beautiful resort beaches. The original buildings of the Old Town give a traditional Portuguese feel, having gained independence just forty years ago, and Africa also has a huge influence on the cultures here. The island, Santiago, is probably the most diverse of the archipelago, from fertile valleys to dry grasslands and mighty mountains - two volcanic mountain ranges dominate this island.
Day 10 - Mindelo
The port city of Mindelo is known for its carnival atmosphere and its blend of Portuguese traditions and Brazilian style. Situated at Porto Grande Bay, Mindelo is surrounded by low mountains and boasts some of the best sea views and scenery in the region. The coastline is littered with natural points of interest, while Fortim d'El-Rei - an abandoned fort on a hilltop above Mindelo port - is well worth a visit.
Days 11-12 - At sea
Soak up the sunshine on deck as we return to the Canary Islands.
Day 13 - Las Palmas, Gran Canaria
Originating from a Castillian military encampment, the first settlement of Gran Canaria expanded and developed into the quarter of Vegueta, where the finest examples of Las Palmas’ extensive historic architecture can be found today. Plaza Santa Ana is at its heart, home to the Catedral de Santa Ana and the iconic statues of the famous dogs of the Canary Islands. The capital is now a bustling cosmopolitan hub, where Spanish ambience and culture mixes with tourist enterprises benefitting from the year-round sunshine.
Day 14 - Santa Cruz, La Palma
La Palma’s small, yet pretty capital city has plenty of colonial-style architecture, magnificent churches and stunning palaces. The sumptuous merchants’ houses and grand town hall are a result of the trade which developed between Spain and the Americas. Calle Real, the city’s most important street, is famous for being both a Property of Cultural Interest and an Historic-Artistic Site and is where Santa Cruz’s finest restaurants, shops and prettiest squares are found - worth a visit to enjoy and sample the local culture.
Day 15 - Funchal, Madeira (overnight)
Arrive in Funchal early this afternoon to enjoy an island full of timeless charm and vivid gardens. This island is renowned for its delicious wine and the beautiful subtropical parks and gardens, several of which are close to the crescent-shaped bay. Able nature enthusiasts would be enthralled with a walk through the island’s Laurel Forest, alive with birds. We remain in port overnight.
Day 16 - Funchal, Madeira
A further morning to enjoy Funchal; maybe take a cable car journey above the city for spectacular views from Monte, dismounting close to the immaculate Monte Palace Tropical Garden. We start our voyage to Tenerife early this afternoon.
Day 17 - Santa Cruz, Tenerife (overnight)
Docking in the stunning port of Santa Cruz, you can explore the beautiful island at your leisure. The Spanish capital is a bustling, vibrant port city. Steeped in history, its elegant squares and parks are linked by boulevards and wide avenues.
Day 18 Santa Cruz - London
We disembark this morning and transfer to Tenerife Airport for a direct, scheduled Norwegian Airlines flight to London Gatwick. On arrival you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
