Day 1 - Southampton
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to Southampton, where our staff will greet you and assist with embarking Balmoral (3T+) in readiness for an evening sailing.
Days 2-4 - At sea
Day 5 - Funchal, Madeira
Off the coast of Africa is the ‘floating garden’ of subtropical flowers and fruits, beautiful climate and year-round bright colours, Funchal. Upon arrival visitors will receive a colourful, warm welcome to begin a relaxing day wandering through beautiful parks and gardens. We sail this evening.
Day 6 - Santa Cruz, La Palma
We arrive early afternoon in La Palma’s capital city, a pretty town home to colonial-style architecture, beautiful churches and palaces, and delightful beaches. Santa Cruz has a fascinating history having been conquered in the 15th century by the King of Castile and subsequently becoming an important trading position between Spain and the Americas. You might want to visit the historic quarter to find spectacular palaces, the grand town hall - built at the request of Philip II during his reign - and old merchant’s houses.
Day 7 - Santa Cruz, Tenerife
Tenerife has established itself as a popular destination in the Canary Islands and there it’s no wonder why, with lovely beaches and luxurious, warm weather. The exotic Botanical Gardens and the Pyramids of Guimar are treasures of the island worth visiting and from the stunning Santa Cruz port you can also reach the resort of Puerto de la Cruz and Orotava Valley’s incredible pineapple and banana plantation.
Day 8 - Las Palmas, Gran Canaria
This morning we arrive in the popular, sun-soaked holiday destination of Las Palmas. Whilst it’s known for the array of golden-sanded beaches, there is a lot more to see in the city founded over 500 years ago including historic buildings and incredible monuments. The city’s cathedral, Santa Ana, has towers that began construction in 1500 but were only completed after four centuries, giving the architecture a unique blend of style including Renaissance, Gothic and Neoclassical.
Day 9 - Arrecife, Lanzarote
Commonly attacked by pirates in the 16th and 17th centuries, this city built two spectacular castles to overlook the harbour as a security mechanism against raiders. Both castles still stand today, with the 1590 Castillo San Gabriel - the first to be built now an Ethnographic Museum, offering the story of the island’s heritage and occupants, the Gaunche. The second, Castillo San Jose, became known as the Fortress of Hunger when it was built in the 1730s to provide employment and reduce poverty after volcanic eruptions, today it hosts the Museum of International Contemporary Art which has a beautiful collects of modern sculptures and paintings.
Day 10 - Agadir, Morocco
Rebuilt on the remains of a 16th century town that was torn apart by an earthquake in 1960, Agadir is now one of Morocco’s main beach resorts. Relax on the delightful beach or enjoy a local bus journey to the only former remains left standing - its fortified walls situated on a hill north of the bay.
Day 11 - At sea
Day 12 - Lisbon, Portugal
Built over seven delightful hills on the north of the River Tagus is Lisbon, a wonderful city with plenty to explore including beautiful gardens, art-nouveau cafes, ancient castles and spectacular bridges. The city also offers a range of fascinating museums to visit including the National Museum of Contemporary Art, National Coach Museum, Calouste Gulbenkian Museum and Carmo Archaeological Museum, Lisbon is also renowned for being home to the largest shopping mall on the Iberian Peninsula, the Centro Commercial Colombo.
Days 13-14 - At sea
Day 15 Southampton
We arrive back early this morning. You will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
