The natural majesty of New Zealand is romantically evoked in the country’s Maori name, Aotearoa, translating as the ‘land of the long white cloud’.
This extraordinarily comprehensive tour focuses on New Zealand’s natural wonders, including the stunning Banks and Coromandel peninsulas, the world famous Franz Josef glacier, the spectacular volcanic sideshows of Rotorua, the great Southern Alps, unspoilt Stewart Island and the exceptional beauty of Fiordland National Park, where we are pleased to offer a unique overnight cruise.
Other highlights include stays in New Zealand’s most appealing towns and cities, a winelands visit and whale watching cruise.
We leave Queenstown this morning for Lake Manapouri where we cruise to West Arm and continue by coach over Wilmot Pass. At Deep Cove we board the Fiordland Navigator for a unique overnight experience on board our vessel, designed to reflect New Zealand’s heritage as a coastal trading scow. The remainder of the afternoon is spent cruising this unspoilt wilderness watching for rare wildlife as the awesome scenery passes by. This evening the vessel anchors in a hidden arm of the sound where you spend an enchanting night.
